چکیده
This paper presents an experimental study to investigate sustainable alternative ceiling boards using PKS and BS. The were prepared by mixing BS/binder, PKS/binder, PKS/BS/binder at different ratios of 20/80, 40/60, 60/40, 80/20 represented as samples (A1, A2, A3 A4), (B1, B2, B3 B4), (C1, C2, C3 C4) respectively. cast flat press process in rectangular sheet shape mould 187 mm × 125 3 mm, cut into specimen sizes 30 40 then tested for dry shrinkage, water absorption, apparent porosity, bulk density, flaking, hardness properties. morphology the was examined SEM. Results analysis show that irrespective filler loadings properties / binder particularly 20/80 ratio ‘‘B1” displayed better shrinkage 3.7%; absorption 12.4%; porosity 15%; density 2.3 g/cm3; flaking 0.05 g 57.6 Hv which approximates those conventional with physical compared BS/binder ‘‘A1” ‘‘C1”. These results, therefore, suggest improved strength could be used a production boards.

Pyrolysis of palm kernel shell in a fixed-bed reactor was studied in this paper. The objectives were to investigate the effect of pyrolysis temperature and particle size on the products yield and to characterize the bio-oil product. In order to get the optimum pyrolysis parameters on bio-oil yield, temperatures of 350, 400, 450, 500 and 550 °C and particle sizes of 212–300 μm, 300–600 μm, 600μm...
متن کاملPreparation and Characterization of Palm Kernel Shell/Polypropylene Biocomposites and their Hybrid Composites with Nanosilica
Hybrid composites are characterized by a variety of properties that are of interest to automotive applications, including strength, mechanical, and thermal properties. In this work, palm kernel shell-filled maleated polypropylene composites and palm kernel shell/nanosilica-filled maleated polypropylene hybrid composites were produced using a Brabender Internal Mixer. The results showed that the...
متن کاملThe Use of Palm Kernel Shell and Ash for Concrete Production
Abstract—This work reports the potential of using Palm Kernel (PK) ash and shell as a partial substitute for Portland Cement (PC) and coarse aggregate in the development of mortar and concrete. PK ash and shell are agro-waste materials from palm oil mills, the disposal of PK ash and shell is an environmental problem of concern. The PK ash has pozzolanic properties that enables it as a partial r...
متن کاملComputational Fluid Dynamic Analysis of Co-Firing of Palm Kernel Shell and Coal
The increasing global demand for palm oil and its products has led to a significant growth in palm plantations and palm oil production. Unfortunately, these bring serious environmental problems, largely because of the large amounts of waste material produced, including palm kernel shell (PKS). In this study, we used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to investigate the PKS co-firing of a 300 MW...
